Layered brushwork in earthy tones creates a textured, organic form. A reclining figure dissolves into this mulch‑like field, a thicket of ochres, umbers and leaf like marks, rendering the postpartum body as heavy terrain that is both sheltering and in slow repair.
Rather than offering a singular portrait, the work locates postpartum experience in texture, weight, and proximity. The figure is not isolated from its ground, it is continuous with it; weathered, supported, and partially subsumed. In doing so, the painting reframes the postpartum period as an extended process, less an event than an ecology, where repair and relation unfold together.
